Caring for full-grain leather
Our vegetable-tanned leather is built to endure. With minimal, deliberate care, your piece will soften, darken, and develop a rich patina unique to its lifetime of use.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the patina develop?
What if my leather gets wet?
Vegetable-tanned leather absorbs oils from your hands and exposure to sunlight, gradually deepening in color to create a rich, custom luster.
Do not panic. Gently blot excess moisture with a clean cloth and let it air-dry naturally. Never use a hairdryer or place it near a radiator.
Can I use commercial cleaners?
Why are there natural markings?
We strongly advise against synthetic soaps or oils. They strip the natural waxes and can permanently alter the hand-burnished edges of your Pellux piece.
Small scars, wrinkles, or color variations are not defects. They are the hallmark of full-grain hide, proving the leather was never sanded or corrected.
